AEM V2 Intake 4th Gen Question/Pictures?
I was wondering if anyone is using the AEM V2 intake on the 4th gen lude. I have heard the, depending on the car, the V2 can either go down by the fender or not? I've heard on ludes, it's insdie, but i just want to be 100% sure. I would imagine if it is better than CAI, it would have to get cold air from the outside? Could anyone who has one clarify on this? And if you do have it, are the gains more noticeable compared to a regular CAI? Pictures of it would be amazing!
it goes to by the battery, so its a short ram. I have it on my h23, but before i was stock and i could tell the differnce. Its not worth it, jus get a ebay intake.
yeah. you won't hear me tell you not to buy a name brand very often, but a fleabay intake + a REAL air filter (K&N or the like) is the best...
^ I had the V2 on my lude then got an Iceman CAI. I like the CAI better. The V2 seemed to have better torque. But on the top end it was a different story. Nothing wrong with an E-Bay deal. IMO, try to get something plastic over metal. Metal conducts more heat. Make sure you take out the resonator box. Also, if you get a CAI, you can remove the turn signal on the lower right hand side by the bumper. If you look inside you can see your CAI. More air!!

get a ebay shortram, K&n. It has the best dyno numbers (except for i believe the v2 which barely beat it by like .23 hp). And well u can spend 200$ a better way =p
I have a aem short ram for my 93 prelude and im actually looking to buy a new filter for it cuz the aem one is old. Would any K&N filter fit the tube of the aem intake?

then why is it better?
the skinny:
a CAI gives more TOP END hp gains, with slightly less of an increase down-low, whereas an SRI gives a little more all the way across the power curve
a CAI is also way more likely to end up hydrolocking your motor if you don't run a bypass valve--an additional cost to consider.
also, an SRI is way easier to install, and cheaper to purchase up front.

You won't really feel a difference btw cai and short intake.
You might get a little more hp with the short intake on the dyno, because the hood is open and the fans are in front of a car. Generaly the cai should be better because is taking colder air from outside the hot engine compartment.

I bought a v2 bc I liked the idea of the dual chambered intake. "It uses 2 diffrent piping diameters and lengths to create multiple sound frequencies to help carry more air into the intake valves". Make my engine bay look so much better over that ebay intake too.

Im not gonna flame, but I am gonna ask who paid you to say that??
In my opinion a cold air intake pipe is better for real driving..the colder air makes a difference.
simple solution: 1) buy a good air filter. 2)buy a used intake from someone on here.... OR buy thin steel piping or aluminium and get a shop to make one for you if you cant yourself...i think these companies are getting away with murder by selling these pipes for 300 bucks

Only if you don't love your car and know everything about it.
I have a CAI and not too long ago - I was messing around with the VSS (which means I had to take the CAI off) - so, when I was finished, I took her for a drive. (No cai) I most definately felt a difference.
I know its not a "SRI" or anything - but very comparable. I most definately felt the low end more without the CAI; however, the high end wasn't as great. Someone just getting their car will probably not notice the difference though. I say CAI all the way.
