Pictures Request: Apexi N1 exhaust on 92-95 EG hatchback
my buddy thinking about getting N1 for his EG, but what I've been heared N1 hangs really low from the ground.. I tried search but came out with nothing. so if anybody has any picture of it please post them up.
thanks
thanks
I may have some pics of mine, it's a 98ex coupe, but i'm still looking. FYI this exhaust will rust through. The entire back wall of the muffler, including the piece of metal that holds it at an upward angle, were completly gone in about 2 years. The bottom of the muffler did hang low, have some scrapes from speed bumps, but the car was lowered about 1.5". I'm guessing that the angel of the muffler caused the water/condensation to collect at the back, but then again i am in the midwest were they salt at will.
i just have the muffler, with 3" tubing and it has been there for almost 5 years. it does not have the angle on it so it goes through the control arm, friend had a whole cat back on his ek, and it was way low.

Sucks that your N1 rusted but to say that this guys will is false and not good info. I live in the midwest and my N1 is running strong, no rust for 2+ years.
To the OP I have mine mounted level or as level as possible with 3" piping going over the LCA in the rear. If you mount it at an angle then yeah I think you will have some issues but have the piping go over the rear LCA and mount it level and you should not have a problem.

No ish. I've had my apexi N1 for years w/o any rusting whatsoever. I also live in the Midwest.
There are two generation of N1's from Apexi... 1st version (i have this) goes under the subframe and straight-out the back at an angle (known it scrape alot). 2nd version Apexi changed the design now to go over/through the lca instead. There are a couple more bends on it but they don't scape at all, comes almost completely straight out.
Heres some crappy pics of mine:

All I did was buy the actually Muffler if you want to call it that and then had all the piping from the down pipe back custom made.

I wish I would've gone this route...
The piping that apexi provided is georgeous, but damn its expensive. And I bet I'd get better clearance if I had a shop do it custom. What'd it set you back?

loud and whiney.
loud and whiney.
Good point ralphie, sorry bout that OP. I've got the 2nd gen, i guess i just had bad luck with mine, which is a shame because i did like it. The rest of the piping is at least still in good condition. I'll try and take some pics tonight. the sound was great deep and loud (not annoying ricer loud). I do have some video from inside and outside the car but no idea how to post/host video.

Yeah mine was pretty loud.. so I put a resonator on it, it seemed to clean it up a little and deepen the tone a bit... but after two years of it, I'm ready for a nice quiet, stock-looking exhaust. I don't think I'll ever put one of these on my daily again...
