HELP!!! Having problems with brakes.
Ill start from the beginning. The passenger side rear caliper started draging on my 93 civic Si without ABS, so I replaced it with a Fenco reman. I changed the drake fluid to DOT4 to take advantage of it higher boiling temp (I did consult the Honda factory manual about the DOT4 and it says to us any DOT3, DOT4 or the Honda H/D brake fluid). This is where the problem started. I blead the brakes in the following order: pasenger rear, drivers rear, passenger front then drivers front and everything went the same as it has many times before until I was done and felt the brake pedal. The brakes dont engage until the pedal is half way down. After consulting the manual I learned that the correct way of doing it is passenger rear, drivers front, drivers rear passenger front. After this the pedal felt the same So then I figured that when I flushed (through the bleeding process) the old fluid out I might of flushed some crap through the master cylinder. I then replaced the master cylinder, going through the whole bench bleeding process and no luck, the brakes still feel the same. Today, I through on the old caliper, it draged but the brakes felt fine, but the brakes felt the same. On another note I am planning to upgrade the brake fluid with something like ATE super blue but I need my brakes working to go get it.
Today I pulled out the master cylinder and bench blead it again. After reinstalation and bleeding the pedal feels a little better until I start the car, then the pedal goes to the floor. Someone please help!!!!!
have u tried adjusting your e-brake? if that doesnt fix it try checking ur brake pads all around...and measure ur disc thickness...maybe its out of spec.
