Default is it possible to have air in the gas TANK?

ok.. ok.. so my dad told me to never let the tank go empty!! lol.. i have a 2002 accord 6 cyclinder, i park uphill everyday so how was i suppose to know that parkin up hill misleads the eye.. my needle sdaid i had gas but no go.. anyways, it happened once.. and ever since that.. my gas gauge hasn't been stable lately.. once i accelerate.. the needle goes down.. then when im at a stable speed.. the needle rises a lil and evens out. it gets annoying after awhile, especially when you're so use to seeing your needle at stable positions. is there anything i can do to get my needle back to way how it use to be.. stable at all times!?!?!? and what could be the cause of this?

Not really, the display needle will 'float' up and down in response to the gas sloshing around in the tank. There are a series of baffles within the tank which slows down this process, designed to keep the tank Pump/Pick-up assembly submerged.
The needle has always been 'floating' up/down whenever you parked on a hill (point down the hill, the needle drops; point up the hill, the needle rises.)
It's just now, you've fixated on it; and paying more attention to it rather than whats going on outside.

Where was the car hit in the accident? There have been incidents where the tank was damaged and caused problems similar to this. (no start on inclines).
The needle wandering around is not a problem

Your problem most likely rests with one of these three items illustrated in the referenced link. 1) Tank Filter Set 3) Tank Fuel Pump Set or 16) Tank Fuel Level Meter.

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...+TANK

Most likely it's 16

I did read the thread and I hate to say it but letting your tank go down far enough where the car would not run is well............stupid...........thanks for understanding what I said is a warning he the "IF you keep.........."

I NEVER let my car get down past 1/4 tank and most of the time I fill it at half a tank (I fill up once a week)

Wow, who pissed in your cheerios this morning? I suggest you get yourself a Helm factory tech repair manual for your car, and do the troubleshooting yourself.

Helminc.com about $70. Or a cheap Autozone substitute (only half as much information)

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Group A &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">how much the needle fluctuate and how fast?...because its normal for the needle to go up n down during hills/slopes and hard acceleration/deceleration and cornering...but the rise and drop of the needle shud be smooth and relatively slow(after the car has no more Gs on it it shud fall back to its regular spot in about 15-30 seconds or so)...if your absolutely sure your not paranoid and just fixated on the needle then u shud check out the components that P_Adam stated above, he is one of our most knowledgable members, if thats not the problem or you cant check the parts yourself then find a friend who knows his/her shyt or your just gon have to take it to a dealership

ps:nice tittys in your avatar </TD></TR></TABLE>

thanks!!!
