Default Is this 96 CX hatch worth $1000?

I'm looking to buy a wrecked Honda and came across the following:

1996 CX Hatch
120k
No options other than A/C
NO DRIVETRAIN

Needs cosmetic parts, driver side window and airbags and has salvage title. No flaming please. I just wanted some opinions before I dropped the money. This is just a toy more than anything as I plan on rebuilding it, doing an engine swap and playing with it on the weekends.

if you can get parts cheap and paint and do the work yourself i would say yes but if your just going to have a shop fix it then no it wont be...

This will be done in my garage with the exception of the swap. I'll probably have Nsxmatt take care of that.

looks like theres a lot of stuff wrong with it, from what i can see you need to replace airbags, driverside fender and headlight, and then you gotta fix the hood, front bumper, and driverside door and probably some other stuff...plus theres no drivetrain and its salvage...I would try and get it for $600-800... but thats just me =/

Yea, I wouldn't do it. I bought a Ford Probe with far less damage than that, and it has proven difficult to just replace parts and make look brand new. My Probe is Satan. It's a lemon...

only time i would take it is if i had the parts needed laying around.. either that or u planned to change all that stuff anyways.. but usally a car in that type of condition would only run 500 bucks ..

Yeah it is it just looks like front end damage me and my buddies have fixe worse...this is the time to do front end conversions since your rebuilding it anyway, go with a ITR or CL or even 92-00 integra front end make the car look different..just my opinion

Interior is good, driver's seat is a little stained but that's it. Everything's good except for what's seen in the photos.

I agree with the front end conversion, but only something like the SI front end. No rice for me, thanks.

Really not worth the $1k?

If the frame is bent at all then no. If the frame of the car is fine then I'd say take it.

Hard to say, you would get better opinions if you showed us under the hood, along the under side of the body...there may be frame damage.

From what i see , no drivetrain and salvaged title offer em 500 maybe...

1k seems steep.

$1000 is def steep. I would make sure there is no frame damage first of all. You can prob buy a running car with no damage for about $3000. If you want a hardcore project...this is the car for you. IF you want a car fast...buy something else.

lowball the hell out of them, if they dont take it slowly move up to a price you are both comfortable with. to me $700 would be about the max i would go, it is 10 years old, it has quite a bit of damage. looks like a new core support would need welded in as well.

I trust him when he says the car has no frame damage. I bought my S2k through him and he has performed the work on all three cars in my sig. Been doing business with him for years now.

I def want a project. I've got an EJ1 that I'm driving right now and have nothing but time to work the ek. I find it appealing that the car is already minus a worthless drivetrain and it wouldn't take much work to do a complete color change, the right way, when it comes time for paint.

I'll try to get underhood pics.

Look under the hood and the interior. I wouldn't spend more that $700 for it.

the front end is totaly out of alignment. looks to me its off by about 3/4 inch. you cuold still fix it though and not have to haev the front aligned. it would just take some tweeking of the body parts to make them line up right.

but then again i am more then likely wrong. i have been before. i still think its worth the money. hell fix it and sell it.
