Default somebody help,,explain this alarm won't let car start...

have some terrible ******* luck buying these shells never again..
I get the call at work my car is running it threw 1 code for a coolant sensor that he was gonna work on fixing before i picked it up. Said the car ran great everything sounded good but it did have a small oil seal leak so i'm already pissed because i was promised it was mint..

So I get thier ready to pick it up. He asked do i have the alarm box and i did'nt even no it had a alarm the guy i got it from never mentioned it but it had a alpine brain.. Thier was a light on the console that blinked 3 times. He said the system had activated and would'nt let him restart the car and it cut the fuel pump off..We tried to hotwire the fuel pump and it cut on but would'nt start. At 1 point it would'nt even crank over then it would but would'nt start.. All the time he is cussing flipping out steadly chasing wires clipping, pulling you name it.. I had to really restrain myself bigtime..

He wanted to be paid for the work that had been done basically saying the car was running fine and his agreement had been followed thru on.. I never heard the car running even though he had witnesses so i gave him half the money..

Does any of this sound right to ya'll??
Can a alarm brain do all that??

Can't you just cut it out unhook the battery and ECU??

There are a number of things the alarm can disable when armed, starter cut is the most used , but you can disable ign. or fuel pump power, or anything that will keep the car from running, if you don't have the remotes for the alarm, as I assume you do not as you didn't know it had the alarm, if you look under the dash someplace you will find the "valet"switch or button, turn on ign. and push switch/button the led will come on solid for a few sec. to let you know you are in valet, and the alarm will not arm, it will blink at you when you turn the ign. off, it will also blink when you open the door.
The "valet switch is also used to override the alarm if it is armed and the remote does not work, [or you don't have it] ....... open door, that should trigger alarm, turn ign. on and push valet switch, that should turn alarm off.

However the Alpine alarms have the option of a NO or NC disabling output if NO was used the alarm has to be in working order and disarmed to be able to start car, if wiring is cut and the alarm disabled it can't close the disabling relays and the car will not start.

Do you know what model of Alpine alarm it is?

Try the valet override and see if that lets you start the car, feel free to IM me if you need more help. 94

If he knew it was the fuel pump wire, then it should have been an easy fix. If it was me in his place, I would tell you that it's not my problem but I'll do you a little favor so you can get it off my property. Then I'd get some 16 ga wire, cut the fuel pump wire at the driver's kick (yellow/green, solid yellow, or yellow/black depending on which Honda we're talking about), cut it at the fuel pump, and run the new wire right on top of the carpet. For an extra charge I'd pull the alarm out and put the car back to stock.
