Auto 2 Manual: Little black box where clutch pedal goes???
anyone have any idea what that little black box is that bolts to the spot where the clutch pedal is....finished auto-manual swap and have no idea wheather to keep it or toss it
are you talking about the foot rest that is in automatics, that would be in the spot where the clutch pedel would be in a manual.
idk if there is room in a manual but if you could fit the foot rest to the left of the clutch pedel it wouldn't be a bad idea to have when you are cruizing on the highway

It sticks its called the dead foot pedal or something very similer, its a place to rest your left foot so its not on the clutch pedal.
im not talking about the dead pedal....its a little black box that actually bolts where the clutch pedal should....and it has like a four wire plug that plugs in it

Yea I didn't see this when I started mine. Must be an alarm of some sort on your car? Take pics.

no its looks factory....soory i have nothing to take pic with or i would....but it bolts right where you bolt the clutch....just a plain little black box with a plug
my 92 civic has one of these but mine is blue. i am converting to manual so it is not needed. it is for the automatic, I believe it is something to do with letting your car start. so if you throw it out when you go to manual, your car will start w/o holding the clutch down to the floor. I don't know of any way to re-wire it to the sensor on the clutch pedal
I just did a manual swap and i didnt have any little black box. There r plugs on the clutch petal that look like boxes but are for the neutral saftey switch, which you dont need (unless your a total idiot).
