Default MAIN RELAY CLICKING HELLLPPPPPPPPPPPP

I have an 89 civic dx 4dr everytime I go to turn it on I hear a continous clicking sound coming from under the dash. It only happens once in awhile but when it does do it the car won't start. Does anybody have any insight into why that is. Do I have a bad main relay or what?

Well the main relay when it dies doesn't click at all...infact nothing happens...

Pull out the sensor and open it up to check it out... if it's bad, get a new one or solder yours back togeter.

If it's fine, check for some bad wiring that might be grounding out/arcing, making a clicking noise.

when it starts clicking tap it with a screwdriver. if that makes it start then your problem is the main realy. if not then its a grounding issue somewhere.

Guys, I had this problem too. Check 3 things. My problem was the engine harness ground at the thermostat housing was wiggling a bit and had to be tightened down. There are also 2 grounds underneath your dash on the driver side which would be helpful to find with a repair manual for your vehicle. I know where they are but it will take me to long to explain them.
