I thought it had high compression too? I got a SOHC ZC, and they are fun, peppy engines!

The sohc zc is fun, but still uses the same pistons. I have torn them apart and seen 1st hand.

its similar but different, has more agressive cam 88-91 SOHC ZC longblock
120Hp 100Trq 9.1 compression (JDM) and the tranny is shortor than the si tranny its a good motor and bang for the buck

Some d16a6 engines have oil coolers as well,,like the wagon and 90-91 ex civic..It's not really worth wild or anything though.

oh, just to add in here, i noticed the IM layout of sensors was slightly different between my 91 sohc zc and my 89 d16a6. it also has a higher amp alternator than we got here.

no i don't, but I know it uses a belt that's a rib wider. My engine appears to have a lot of differences, though. different logo on the valve cover, off an automatic, power steering, etc. So it could just be this motor and not all of them.
