Ok i need to know whether the headers off of an 03 type s would fit on my ep3. i was informed that the quality of the type s headers are only exceeded by race headers which we all know are not street legal. i came up on the headers brand new and the collector and would like to know if anyone knows if they would fit. Please inform me!?

 

It will fit on the block, but here's the thing...

The collector is a noticeably bigger diameter, and I don't think it'll fit on the EP's downpipe leading to the catalytic convertor. Best option would be to get a type-s cat & downpipe. I got one from an RSX driver who blew up his turboed RSX-S.. lol

If you were going to try to use both the header and the cat, combined they're longer than the EP's stock parts by about three inches or so. You'd have to shorten the midpipe of the EP's exhaust to match. You would also have to get extensions for the O2 sensors' wires (Casper Electronics can make a custom set; ask for about 3 inches' worth).

If you don't want to hack up the stock exhaust, you could either get a custom midpipe made to fit between the cat and axleback, or get a CTR-spec exhaust like Mugen or Fujitsubo.

To sum up:

Using a Type-S shorty header would need some modifications & concessions in other parts of the exhaust.
