help with the pedal Assembly
is it hard to take out? Because there was something that broke at my clutch pedal. i can't start the car the only way it would start is if i push it. And when it starts up it wont go into gear. oh yeah the car is a 91 civic 4 door.
Is the pedal itself broken? If not your cable may have snapped which would mean you woudlnt have to take out the whole assembly. Take out the cable and check it.
You can just replace a single pedal without replacing the assembly. The assembly is a pain but if you have to do it check this guide out.
I've done it, its a bitch. You can thank Dax for the info and pics.

on the floor of my friend's garage sat a pedal assembly out of an accord, and it looked like the whole thing was bolted in using like 4 bolts, and then you just had to disconnect the wiring to the switches and the connections to the pedals. It looked do-able. Just get down there and look at it. I'll get more info tonight.
EF Civics have 10 bolts/nuts holding in the assembly. They are tricky and require the steering collumn to be dropped, you can do it up, but for your ease you drop it. Aswell for ease, take the driver seat out so you can lay down on your floor.
Look up and disconnect the cable, both clutch and gas. Then remove the codder pin from the brake booster and slide the pin out. If the steering column is dropped, remove all the bolts with ease and the wiring aswell, then the assembly should 'slide' (and I use that term loosly cause you will have to yank and thug that **** out) and voila, that's the easiest way to do it.
I've done it 4 times now. Notice, the remove the pedals, you also remove the bolts holding your booster in, make sure you retighten them good.

Yes you can, the pedals can be removed from the assembly, it's a pain and I've personally never done it...but it's possible.
We have switched a manual brake pedal for a automatic on in a 88 Si Auto-X car, bigger pedal = easier heel toe brake/gas.
