I'm headed to a junkyard to pick up a tranny out of a 95 civic EX, or so they say.
How can I properly identify whether it's a legit Z6 trans or not? What's the code besides the S20 part?
Thanks in advance

Yeah it's $150 from a junkyard, with a 30 day warranty. So we'll see!!

If you look near the drain plug on the tranny you will see a "circle stamp." In there you will find the b000 or the a000. a000 is for the ex and si.
OK guys....taken from the D-series tranny guru himself (transzex) from the site: D-series.org, there is a sticky there in the tranny section and the ex/si tranny is b000. Please dont confuse this guy anymore. It would suck if he picked up a dx tranny.

and I stand corrected because I have a ex/si swap
having driven a CX, it is a big difference but as far as acceleration from a dx tranny with a Z6 swap, the accel is not evident although I am sure you will notice a .1-.3 sec diff in the quarter mile.

When I swapped from a DX to an EX tranny, but 1/4 E.T.'s dropped ~.8-.9 seconds.
