how the hell you get that bullshit?

that's pretty much a simple 90, it could have been done in one piece. i mean, sure it looks cool...but i don't see how anyone would think of it being cooler than just a regular bend that's just/more functional, cheaper, and easier.

ricer welds...how sad

if i could use a 1 piece 90 in the same space instead of the pie cuts id rather do that. sometimes you have no choice though

very true, there was a 6 million dollar project being worked on, and they wanted to pie cut the 6inch inlet into the unit, when we did the math it flowed 40% less than a smooth transition.

but it looks pimp

You know what. I don't think you belong in this forum. keep the bullshit out or go post in appearance and cosmetic where you belong.

it was more of a practice exercise than anything. I wanted to practice my stainless welding, but I also wanted to work on something that would be productive. Plus my bends are another 4 days out... so I decided wtf go for it. Only time this skill becomes practical is when you're using 4" stainless...where a u bend is 107 bucks.

Joe it took me about 3 hours start-finish.

Yes Id rather buy a bend...yes a bend is better...no im not a ricer...yes I like to weld. Appreciate it for what it is and look no further into it.

haha yea my guess was 2-3 hours. cut on a chop saw? 4 inch stuff isnt cheap...i just did a 4 inch exhaust for an RX7. luckily i didnt have to do any pie cuts...it takes a long time to tig around a 4 inch pipe!!

looks good though. i like your idea of learning and being productive at the same time. i think i built 3 turbo kits for my car before i even put a real motor in it. each one i made came out better than the last so i just kept starting over. i probably wasted a lot of time and money but it was worth it haha

This guy posted pictures of some his fabriction and you're saying he's acting like the coolest thing ever? Do you even know why people use pie cuts? Let me ask one more time, are you sure you're not joking?

Very nice sir!

Dont forget to clean up the welds/polish wire bursh whatever! It will help prevent corrosion.. (which is the idea behind stainless right?)

Colours are for ricers

Well, I guess the second one is just an opinion, but it's an incorrect conclusion because they're form over function in all but the tightest of spots.

if you're doing crazy bends or dont want to fight with pre-bent mandrel bends they're very much function over form. I used two on my setup because my DP had to bend very tightly and no mandrels would fit; same story by the oil pan

I was going to purge it, but Laziness forced me to just do it. I only burned through in a few spots...I'll clean them up with the die grinder later.
