Default yo i think its done- the engine i mean

man, i was driving last night and i had a car following me kinda hard, so i gunned it so that i could get away. the odd thing was that i didnt feel the vtec kick in, but when im low on oil, the light comes on and the engine stalls some when i hit vtec. well, i hear a small knocking and im like what the hell is that? i take the bletway exit and when i let off the gas on a turn, the car cuts off completely, the wheel locks, and im on my way to the rail. luckily, i slowed down enuff to avoid the rails, but the car is in trouble. i put oil in, and make an attempt to take my date 20 miles to her house. bad idea. the knocking got worse, then the engine cut off. now the car will try to start, but never kick over. it was odd because the car would not maintain idle during the problem, where i let my foot off the gas and it would just go to 0 rpm. now its about to be towed to honda, but i fear the worst. what do you guys think is the problem? im thinkin my valves are done, which should cost me a couple grand right? that or a new engine...... sad date huh?

Sounds like you ran it low on oil and starved the bearings of oil. Possibly locked the bottom end up. How low was it on oil?

Your best bet is not to take it to Honda...buy a JDM front clip it'll be cheaper than having Honda rebuild it.

Possibly depnding on the extent of the damage. Or you could just need a short block. But it could be someting else you might be lucky.

The dealer will not rebuild it more then likely get you a facroty short or longblock. Core back your old engine. The plus to this is you get a real warranty unlike the places that give you a front clip which is usually start up warranty or 30 days or something like that. But then its cheaper then the dealership.

yea i hate the idea of rebuilding an engine without 'upgradin'. i always talked about putting an RSX engine in the car so i can have 6 gears, but this was completely unexpected. cant wait to get that dealership quote

Trust me just because you have 6 gears doesnt mean its fast. Yeah hopefully it is nto as badd as you think. Are you planning on keeping the car or possibly selling it as is? If its too badd?

well, i always thought 6 gears was a better ratio. as far as selling it, i thought about it, but it would be more beneficial for me to just keep it and fix it. i have a lot of mods on it, but not much in the engine so i wont lose much on eng mods. all i have for the engine is a aem cai and a greddy evo 2 exhaust (not engine i know). i love the lude and i hate to see it hurtin the way i saw it last night.

BetTer gear ratio yes but the money you spend on that swap you can put in your existing motor and be alot faster

MURDERER!!! PRELUDE KILLER!!!

Sorry,

As for you front clip question, a front clip is sorta exactly what it sounds like. It's the complete front end of a car from the winshield foward. They just hack that ish of and sell it with all the parts there. From the engine, to the AC, to the belts to the washer fluid resoviour, errryting!
