Prelude value question
Alright, so I sold my VW finally and I am looking at gettin another prelude. There is a guy kind of local selling a 92 si 5spd for 3200 obo but wants 2900 at the least for it. The car has 187,000 miles on it and has some dings/dents and 2 rust spots. I was curious if offering 2500 would be a slap in the face? My 1st one I owned I lucked out on and got a deal for 1k so I am kinda stingy with spending 2900 on one that is not in as good of shape and has more miles. Any feedback is welcome
he said there are a couple dings and dents in the car, a scratch that isnt down to the primer and 2 small rust spots....he didnt mention the interior. I really want another prelude but I dont think he is going to budge on the pride. I found another one for 2k with 120,000 miles but havent heard back from the guy on wether or not he still has it, which for that price probably not
check it out man, i paid 3000 for mine and it had i think like 17 individual dings on the driver side door the car had like 180,000 on it and the body wasnt in perfect shape but it is a 4 wheel sterring 4th gen and it had a apexi ws2 catback on it so i think i did pretty good considering my ability to fix it. I guess it all depends on what you want to do to the car you know.

i paid 4500 for my 92 si, with like 120k, flawless exterior and interior (minus some driver side scratches from apparent night attempts to get the key in the door, and missing, around the door handle =p). Of course within 5 months i proceeded to blow the 23, and a clutch. But hey, drive it like u stole it. Or thats the theory on ur first car.... until u waste 5000$ =p
Thats what I payed too, I got my 92 SI for $4500 with a H22a4 swap. It has some cancer on the quarters, but hey, I love it! Too bad I just spent $700 on replacing the balljoints, steering rack, and tie rod ends... ouch... People say I am dumb for spending that kind of money on it, but you dont see them around too often, I like having a car that is semi-rare.
Man... just makes me think of six years ago when I bought my 92 Si for $6k. Of course, then it was an only an 8 year old car and now its a 14 year old car. I'm never selling her, wouldn't ever be worth it to me I think.

Well here she is, needs a bit of work but it will come together slowly....I think I'm going to start gathering spare h23 parts (head/block) and start building a new engine:

ugly blue interior....thinking maybe some black accents to help out a little:

i like that interior. i have the black / tan interior inside of dark green (how mid-1990's is that combo) but i need it replaced now since my leather front seats are all messed up (thanks special edition)
