You could have a bad heater cable, if you look under your hood and follow your heater hoses to where they go into the firewall on one of the hoses you should see a metal valve looking thing with a cable attatched to it. These will be the smaller diameter hoses, you should have one running from your water pump, and i believe that they go in somewhere close to the center of the firewall, but i could be wrong. Watch this and have someone turn your heater **** from hot to cold, if it doesn't move, then you have a bad cable. There is also a possibility that your heater core could be blocked, I am not sure as to the best way to check for this other than changing it or taking the core to a radiator shop. Hope this helps.

Clogged heater core, Possibly have an air pocket in the core also.

Have you checked the fluid level lately?

First, look under the dash on the right side of the console where the carpet meets the firewall. There is a white bellcrank that the temp **** actuates. Watch this while moving the temp **** to see if it moves it all the way. You can actuate it with your hand to see what all the way is. This will tell you whether or not the **** is stripped. Then as the previous poster said, check the function of the bypass valve under the hood. If both of these are OK, I would disconnect both the inlet and outlet hose on the heater core and check for flow with a water hose. If it appears restricted, alternate between the inlet and outlet with good pressure until it flows freely. I take it your not experiencing any overheating and this is strictly a heater issue?

Stripped temp **** is the most common problem. They are only $5 or so from the dealer if that turns out to be your problem. I keep a spare in the glove box. I'm on my third **** so far. Woman seem to think that the car will warm up faster if they turn the **** faster and harder. Go figure.
