5th gen Camber kit question. (searched)
So i bought a used ingalls camber kit (base model).
From reading previous topics, i've read that the balljoints need to be machined out, but the kit i bought already comes with the stock control arms. My question is, Do i still need to get them machined out, or can i just straight swap it out (control arm with camber kit) with a simple wrenching session. I don't want to pay someone if i can just get around it myself.
Please shed some light.
thanks,
-Jeff

IF the parts you bought are for a 5th gen Front end and are the upper control arms with adjustable balljoints-you can do the basic wrenching yourself. The front of a 5th gen is NOT the same as the rear. You can do the rear yourself with the right tools and NO press since there are kits (Ingalls and SPC) for the innner control arm bushings.
In any case, the front is not hard to do. If you need to change the balljoints only, then you WILL need a press to get the stock ones out without damaging the arms. You can reassemble everything-but make an appointment for an alignment the same day-since there is no way it will still be in spec after you take it apart. The point here is that you will need a press for the balljoint kits and only an airwrench for the inner bushing type kits.
Been there with this one. Good luck

go ahead a use that control arm that came with it. just center the BJ in the slot, tighten it, put it on the car and go get an alignment ASAP, it will make your car pull.
