I bought a 2000 ls motor to swap in my 92 vx. I've been trying to do a lot of research but its hard to find what i'm looking for because u cant search for vx, eg, etc; or i'm reading conflicting material.

I mainly have two questinos about mounts...and electronics.

I have seen the diagram on ht where you need the 3 3g integra mounts to put the ls into an eg. But on hybrid garage they say its a direct bolt in swap. Seeing my motor didnt come with any mounts, i'm wondering if this is the case or is the mount diagram with integra mounts the only way to be?

Also, since this is an obd2 motor, if i run that ecu is that what my car will be? What is my best option? Shoudl i find an obd1 ecu? Do i need to make any changes to my distributor or injector wiring?

Lastly, the motor came with the harness, should i use that or swap my vx harness on it?

 

you are goign to do a straight ls swap no vtec in your vx??? If that is the case you are going to need to find a non-vtec ecu so you will not throw a cel. as for the mounts you can use all your stock mounts except your driver side mount because it has 3 bolting points instead of the two like you stock one. And instead of going obd2 change all your components to obd1, your dizzy, injectors ect.

 

oh yea your 2000 engine harness will not swap over!

 

the swap came with an ecu, so i can i just use that and not change over any injector or dizzy wiring ?

Dont i need the front lower tranny bracket off the ls and not vx? because this motor came with nothing

i believe 2000 ls ecu's had immobilizers in them, and you will also code for a fuel tank pressure sensor, as well as some other crap, like the crank sensor by the crank pulley(went through that personally).

if you want that bracket, use it from the ls.


the vx doesnt use 4 wire o2's so you might have to rewire for them, or use a harness that has them. i have the engine half of an ls harness, pm me if u want.

Shall i get obd1 injectors or obd2 injector clips?

Should i ditch the 2000 ls ecu and get an obd1 computer?

Would this work ok with an obd2 distributor?

 

I read a post where b18c5eh2 says you can use a 00 integra engine harness as a direct plug in a 92vx.... but everybody else i have asked said you cant??

Also vx has 4 plugs on shock tower while ls only has 3...?
