umm i change my clutch/flywheel now my car is struggling to start. It wont start unless i crank it over and over again. I mean it starts but it will cut off a second later. It kind of sound like dere is no gass in the car,but there is. the more i crank it the longing it will stay running untill it finally starts running. when I turn it off and turn it back on it starts fine.. But wait an hour; I am back to square one

 

There was a ground wire on your tranny you removed to do the job - did you re-connect it?

Check the thermostat ground and try resetting your ecu.

 

umm reset it buy plugin out ecu or take off battery terminal or it does not matter

 

disconnect the batt.

Negative. Remove the backup fuse under the hood for a few minutes. The pull the battery trick won't allow it to connect to OBDII machines.

 

that did not work.. when it finally catches the idle is verey irrattic

did you unhook any of your wiring harness?? Theres a couple of plugs that you can get backwards, and it will screw up a lot of stuff..

 

Umm i only disconnected the three by the battery.. But don't they only connect back in one way

Those three only go one way, but one of those plugs can... i believe be interchanged, which causes many problems...

When you are cranking it over, it sounds normal right. Not missing or anything, just not starting. Next time you go to start it, turn the key to run, and listen for the fuel pump. Keep doing this until it won't start one of the times, and see if its coming on then. Otherwise, i'd just double check all your wiring connections again.

 

Check your Vaccum Lines and make sure your FPR isn't dumping fuel into your intake mani. I know it sounds crazy but I had that happen to me and all the fuel going into the mani via the vaccum line was enough to foul up 3 of my cylinders.

 

what gets me it was workin fine before i change my clutch/flywheel... Once the car starts its good.,It will start fine.. But when it gets cold again it wont start right away.After a few times When it finally starts it will idle abnormal around 1500 rpm a "chugga chugga" sound and it will die. or go into a high idle and come down after a few minutes... aand it will be good

i say its a wiring issue somewhere. YOu didn't pinch any wires inbetween the block and tranny did ya? Are the battery cables nice and snug? Starter lines aren't touching anything else right? I don't know, its got to be something simple. Keep us updated if you do figure it out.

do you ever smell gas?? To me, given the backfire, and the fact that it cranks and cranks, and then starts, and then is fine... it seems to me like its rich, really rich. Crank it over sometime, and when it wont start pull your plugs and see if they smell like gas... Just make sure that the three wires on the passanger side are actually the ones that belong there... mainly the smalller one, which could be interchanged amongst others. In my mind, there is nothing else mechanicaly that woudl explain this, so i still vote electrical.

 

Ill check it but if i had the wires wrong wouldn't the car not start at all
