Default Hood lifting at high speeds - CRX / JDM SiR front end

has anyone noticed that their JDM hood seems to love lifting and or flapping a bit at very high speeds? Past 130mph it is actually a little scary.

Has anyone found a good solution to this besides hood pins?

Does using the radiator support from the JDM ZC ED-style chassis with the SiR front bodywork help (as opposed to the slot/shim method most people employ to make the latch work with an EF radiator support on an ED chassis) ?

Or ... perhaps somehow modifying the spring on the latch ?

My front end fits rather nicely... and the hood closes easily and securely.. and doesn't have any play in it if I try to lift it by hand.... it also has the front weather stripping in tact so it isn't letting a shitton of air in like a CF hood w/o it...... but, regardless, on a windy day at high speed... it tends to flap a bit.....

I'd sure like to make it a bit more rock solid.....

I don't remember having this problem on my ED6 hatch... either with the OEM hood or the VIS CF ZC hood (w/o transferring the weatherstripping).... although, I did have some heat/sound insulation material on the left and right side inner panels of the hood.... which seemed to give it a nice tight fit and some damping when closed....

so I'm not quite sure what the best route to go with on this CRX is..... but hood pins are not an option for this car...

my oem hood does this too, noticable around 75mph (120km/h). If youre really concerned and drive at that speed (ur nuts!) then i'd suggest hood pins (but be tasteful y0!)

This is why you shouldn't go 130 in a CRX. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions. I just wanted to throw that in there. I can't say that I haven't driven that fast in a car, but holy crap! In a CRX? What are you doing at that speed? Are you at your peak at the drag strip or just cruising along on the Autobahn?

This reply not intended to be mean, just an inquiry as to what brings you to 130 in your CRX.

The EF3 t-bar on the ED civic chassis with the SiR front end lets you keep your hood latch w/o modification

I know we all like to top out our EFs once and a while

i think the little stoppers under the hood can be adjusted to make the closure tighter. my miata has an aluminum hood and flaps over about 100, the spec miata is consistently in the 120's and flaps so bad its distracting. partenr wont let me use hood pins so i just deal with it.

those stoppers don't do much. They're there mainly to raise it if you want...

Are you surprised that there are gay's on the internet? I don't think he/she is gay cause he/she said partner and Miata in the same paragraph.
