95 accord
i want to buy a 95 accord from one of my good friends, it was a show car and never driven. it has a full molded body kit, air-ride suspension, 19 inch rims. all sorts of goodies. it has a custom hood, with some kind of headlight conversion, i dont remember. the motor in it is mounted, but not wired up. hasnt been started since hes owned it. i cant remember what the motor is. ive been searching. i work 2nd shift, he works during the day. hard to get ahold of him sometimes. its something to do with "220" and i do know it was ordered in from japan for $2400 not including shipping. and its with a 6 speed manual transmission. full greddy exhaust system. trunk with the sideways license plate in it. its body dropped on the 19's but can be raised higher than a stock accord with the flip of a switch 
the car was midnight blue with metallic silver flames, but is all scuffed up now because he didnt like the paint job. most parts under the hood are painted orange, compliments of me. the door handles, and trunk are shaved. the car needs to be painted, have the motor wired up, and the interior done. he just had a baby and will sell the car to me for 2 grand. and its one hell of a deal. its just sitting in his garage, and he wants it to go to a friend. i really want to buy it, but want to get kind of an estimate as to how much its gunna cost me to have the car all done, im pretty sure i can do the interior work myself. just alotta bitch work, like mounting the dash back up and all that good ****. it has 4 racing seats in it, front and back. but they dont have the rails to mount them. i need to buy some, or have some made. im thinking for paint, i want to paint the car orange, and tape out the same flames and have them be white. i normally dont like flames, but these ones were sick looking. anyone know what that might cost me? the interior i would do myself. i hope. and i need to have the motor wired up and timed. i have no idea what this would cost me. ive searched, but there isnt really a whole lot of shops around here thatll do it. just a few nearby. and again, asking a price range that might be? for 2 grand, i cant beat it. i think im for sure going to buy it. just want to know some numbers first. i have a second generation acura integra that i do all the work on myself. and its not half bad. but its time for a new project. i just cant paint, and cant wire up an engine. any information will be appreciated. thanks. he invested 22,000 into this car, not including the price of the car stock itself. and will sell to me for 2,000. i think id have to be stupid not to buy it.

low95accord.... in all seriousness look at what's going on.... if something's too good to be true, it is. 22k invested.... selling for $2k. Be f'real man!

I have to agree with 93cb7sedan please double space i had to strain to read it and i have 20 20 vision.

in all seriousness.. theres no way that guy is gonna sale that car for 2000.. im sure the rims and wheels cost that himself. im sure hes a great friend and all. Hell if i had that car and my brother wanted it, i would have charged way more then that. Stop pullin our chains.

go get a car that has not been modded and definately do not buy from a friends unless you know exactly what you are doing.

it was strictly a show car. he took it to carlisle and wherever and won some trophies and whatnot with it. thats all he wanted it for.
this guy has way more money than he knows what to do with from a settlement.
he just had a baby, and the car sits in his garage. the air-ride and everything works. the motor is just not wired.
he and the owner of the shop that the car was in had some differences and he pulled the car from them after the interior was stripped out (had a new idea for it).
hes had the car now sitting in his garage for about 2 years. nothing to do with it.
he has a baby, and bought a 2006 suzuki grand vitara, doesnt need it, and/or want it.
ill get pics of the car as soon as i can. i need to wake up early enough. i work 2nd shift.
im not trying to "pull anyones chains" here. i just wanted simple estimates. didnt think it would be that big of a problem.
why am i gunna "pull ppls chains" on the internet that i have no idea who they even are. and have no reason to impress any of them.

The problem here is, in effect, you might as well be buying a bowling trophy; for how ready it is to being a automobile.
It sounds like:

Just on the engine....$1000,00+- (You don't know if you've got the correct ECM, harnesses) etc. Considering it was installed for looks, there's no telling what may have been broken.

thank you P_adams for the estimates. i do know though that its not an H22.
i have an H22 in my integra. (bought it with the motor already installed.)
the whole reason this sale even came up, was because of the H22 in my integra. i was thinking of putting a new motor in it, and i was on hmotorsonline and he asked what i was looking to spend for a motor.
he told me he'd sell me his motor for 1k, and i was like damn, maybe i will. but i had to make sure that the motor would fit and whatnot.
and then he said that if i promised to actually get the car going, he would let me take it and all the parts for 2k. i've always wanted to buy it from him, but he never would sell it to me. hes had alot of good offers on it in the past, but he turned them all down.
also this is not some "friend" thats going to dick me over. and is also willing to help me with what we can do ourselves. he wants to see this project done. but being that he has a baby, whos mother is very worried about what he spends, he cant do it himself if he wanted to.
i know this would cost me money. and thats not too much of a factor..im just trying to see if i can get the best idea at how much.
if you ask me..22k worth of parts for 2k man? id have to be an idiot not to buy it. first thing..if it ends up being a hassle..ill part it out. although ill probably get my *** kicked for it.
i know so many kids around here that'll buy everything off of this car. tons of kids want stuff from it now, but he wants it to go to a friend. he put a lot of time in this car.
the motor in it was 2500 without the 6 speed tranny. i have no idea what the air suspension cost.
the rims i may not be able to have, though i wont mind much. im not too big on that set. (they are still at the shop where the car was taken from, and he might have sold them.)
the car is sitting on the stock wheels right now.
i think tomorrow ill go and take pictures of it, i dont know how good theyll turn out, ill have to use my camera on my cell phone.

Which kinda makes my (and a lot of other people's) point. If it's not an H22 (probably the most hands-down favorite swap going), then what is it; and where in the swap process did he stop?

What you have here is a giant money pit. The best you can do is sell it for parts. And you will be lucky to get much for them, especially when you don't even know what kind of engine it is. You are just believing anything your friend tells you. Sounds like the kind of deal that ends friendships. If this guy has all kinds of money, why is he buying a Suzuki? El-cheapo

hes buying a suzuki because he went through a 2002 Dodge Ram1500, then a subaru WRX STi, then a scion xa or xb whichever ones an ugly *** box. and then the suzuki grand vitara.
he likes them. im not sure why. it is pretty loaded though.
its not my friend telling me anything that i believe. as far as parts go. there is so many people at work that want stuff from this car. so many "kids" around here with their accords and other hondas that want stuff from it.
a guy at work has already offered me 500 for the racing seats (all 4) and 300 for the doors. (because he doesnt want to shave his, he wants them already done i guess)
he also said he MIGHT want the exhaust system and would pay 450-500 for it if he decides to go with it or not. thats 1300 right there. to one person.

i also now have an accord i can buy for 100 bucks, that has everything except for the motor in it. so if my "plans" for the interior bomb out. strip it all outta that accord, and put it in mine.
