Default soon to be 500+whp!

well, as some of you know i threw a rod through my built block this past summer....but now i'm putting together a whole new built motor. The new setup will have:

GE HD sleeves 87mm
Endyn Rollerwaves 9.0-9.5:1
Manley Rods
new OEM Honda oil pump
PNP Head with 1/2mm oversized valves, all ferrea components.
ARP studs
3" dp to 3" exhaust (converting to V-Band)
no a/c
70mm STR throttle body
rerouted intercooler piping to go like John D's (yea, I copy from the best way)
St00pid from AutoLogic, Inc. in Houston will tune the car.

still using Precision SC61, Precision intercooler (medium size), Precision 880cc injectors, Hondata s200/b, aeromotive fpr, str rail, SFP t3 manifold, greddy profec-b boost controller, greddy type-s BOV, TIAL 38mm W/G, tons of autometer gauges, slippery tires .

My goal is to make 500whp- i think this setup can do it pretty easily, but i don't want to make much more than that since this is my DAILY driver, and i can't afford to tear it up again. Wish me luck.........i should have her up and running within 8 weeks.

no slicks, no lsd......just lots of tire spinning.

i'm afraid with slicks it will tear my driveshafts apart......(they are stock right now.)
i need some driveshaftshop.com axles, more heavy duty clutch, and lsd tranny. that will com this summer though.

I'll try to make videos if i can.

pullig- i NEVER drive on jackson anymore because i don't get off work early enough anymore. i may once i get this car running again, but hardly anyone is out anymore.

if you can't beat em...........you know.
yea your right- 89mm&gt;87mm, but 500+whp&gt;400whp! LOL
i know your setup can make a ton more power, why haven't you tried? with the t4 turbo you're running, you are just getting into it's efficiency range. that thing should really haul *** on the top end if you cranked up the boost some more and made around 550-600whp. I guess then you'd be breaking all kinds of **** though. I wanted to go to a t4 setup, but i don't have enough $ to do it right now, and build a new motor. maybe later......

haha word. yeah my set up does have alot more potential but just as you said, ill end up breaking alot of stuff i dont have money to replace yet trying to get some sort of traction bar and still saving up for cheap rims/slicks. but its good to see your car is on its way back to life keep me posted

Looks good! Any guesses as to how many psi will be needed to reach 500whp with this turbo?

i imagine for my setup it will be around mid 20's. it really depends a lot on the compression ratio that you're running which for me is 9.0-9.5:1. john d made 400whp with just 10psi i think, but for my previous setup i only made 377whp with 20psi. but he also has a t4 setup. i think with things flowing more easily now through a PNP'd head with oversized valves, numbers will be reached a little more easily.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by prelittlelude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">what is this amazing intercooler setup that you both have?</TD></TR></TABLE>

it's not really amazing.....in fact, you would probably just think it looks normal, but since i had to figure out the first time where to put the i/c piping on the hot side, i went with the shortest route, and cut out the metal under my driver's headlight and just aimed the turbo down, brought a 90* across the bottom of the radiator, out the crappy hole that i made, and a SHARP restrictive unsmooth curver around the radiator and down a bit to the i/c........

the way john did it is makes much smoother turns and doesn't require much fabbing. i suppose many others have done it like this before john, but his is memorable to me, so i use his name. plus his setup looks VERY clean and professional. it goes with compressor outlet aiming up and a 90* across the top and then another 90* down through a hole cutout behind the drivers light, then just pull it around the front radiator support to the i/c. much simpler and cleaner. hopefully john doesn't care that i jack a couple of his pics and post them here to show you what i'm talking about.....

I've been running all of my IC piping like that with preludes for a few years now. If the customer can't live without having a windshield washer reservoir, they don't deserve a turbo

Do any of you guys remember how the drag gen 2 IC piping ran back in the day? It was about 6-8 feet in length from the compressor to the drivers side IC inlet.

talk about way back in the day! i remember exactly how they routed their piping.. Man that must have had some serious lag time to fill that whole ic setup and then presurize the mani..

chris-
setup is looking mean,

john-
id like to here how exactly or why you think you were able to make 400whp on 10psi?

he made it on 10psi, but at a pretty high rpm (if i remember correctly).....his larger turbo (t4 sc61) doesn't have to boost as much to get more air back into the engine. more boost with his setup would be killer.

welcome to english class: you were able to - indicates past tense

rephrasing the question:
Id like to hear how exactly you were able to make 400 whp on 10 psi? and
Id like to hear why you think you were able to make 400 whp on 10 psi?

Glad you guys are still getting along.
