Default what tranny is good for my engine?

i have d16z8 thinking about changing my tranny, ne suggestions on wat to get?

Are you sure you don't have a d16z6 (sohc vtec)? if you're looking for a good tranny to go with whatever d-series motor you have, your best bet is a 92-95 Civic EX/Si tranny (s20). You can use your current axles, etc with this or any other d-series tranny. You can also opt for the 96-99 EX tranny (s40) because it has steel shift forks. Basically you can distinguish the EX/Si trannies by doing as so: near the drain plug on the tranny you will find these codes stamped on the case.

A000 = small bearing case CX/DX/LX = long gears
B000 = large bearing case EX/Si = short gears
