Default removing a/c

so i want to remove my ac to make the car lighter and put less drag on my engine.
what is the processs of removing the a/c.
can i just release all the pressure and take a wrench to all the nuts on the hoses. then unbolt the compresssor and condenser. or is there more to it.

how much pressure did that release?

I had mine de-comped, and when I went to take it off, it still vented off some serious pressure.

Might not be too safe.

I would wear eye protection(obviously)
