Cheap/Good Helment?
I need to get a helment to do autocrossing in. I'll also probably start doing track days. Anyone know of a cheap helment that meets the requirements for auto-x and trackdays?

Bieffe makes some nice cheap helmets.. I prefer the OMP Formula (wide eyeport) helmets and the Bell M3 but they are quite a bit more pricey..
no such thing as a good cheap helmet...
Id suggest maybe an HJC M-Rated open face. If its just Auto-X i dont see a reason why not. They go for about 79.99 at a bike shop. Ask to see the Sullivan Brothers catalog if they dont have any there. Model # HJC CL-5.

I picked up a M2000 rated helmet for $80. It gets me by at the local autocross, track days, and drag racing. I'd prefer a nice SA rated full face from a safty standpoint and you look badass in them.

Oh Jond. You should never ask that question here. Everyone will flame you for wanting a cheap helmet, you will die, your head will bounce off the roll bar, your skull will explode......
I say screw them. You are not rich. You reach much higher speed on the interstate. I never see people getting killed on this forum from a cheap helmet. Buy what you feel comfortable with. Dont let these guys pressure you into buying a $1000 helmet.
I know I'll get flamed for this post, but just speaking what I believe.
