Default 92 prelude stalls & starts after ten minutes & stalls..

I just just did a head and tbelt change on a 92 si lude, this car was received with a bad head and broke timing belt. Compression is 180 across. I have not driven the car yet, still on jackstands .Here is the problem.. start the car and it idles fine until it warms up and then it stalls..I have to wait for about another ten minutes to start it up again for it to catch, it will then run again for awhile and then stall, I wait ten min and the same routine.. I cannot get a good reading on the ignition timing, it is no where near the mark even w/ distr all the way advanced, although it does help. The car is spitting out alot of black sut and water from exhaust..I realized the car was sitting for about 16 months, so I drained the tank and changed filter. I also cleaned egr and change the egr sensor(I got an egr code). I put new gas and some fuel cleaner. I still have the same problem. The fuel pump is working fine. Note: i can rev the car normally but if i put it in 3rd/4th and gas it to about 50 the engine light will come on, no code though. Also sometimes pressing the gas will keep it from stalling but if I let go it will die. Also the car idles at 750 and stays steady, it is winter time. The fans do work..Why is it that the car will stall and i have to wait another ten minutes before it starts?, does the car have to cool down..is it some heat related issue or fuel issue or timing?
thanks for any help

just for haha's, try making an egr block off plate and see if it runs different. I had a very similar problem and that worked as a temporary fix.

I was having a problem like this once, I had a short in my fuel pump, if the car has sat a long time like mine did you could running into the same issue.

i will try the ignitor first(I was leaning in that direction, from reading other post)then if thet doesnot work the egr block plate ...then if not that the I'll probably look at the fuel system, injectors pump etc again.. thanks all of u for the advice..

try the repair/maintenance stuff first. the car is supposed to run properly in stock form. you shouldn't have to do all of that other stupid **** to make it run right. think about it. your pants don't fit, you wear a belt. you don't gain weight instead.

problem, seems to have been a leaky egr

edit: actually when i installed another egr it still has same problem but if I pull the hose that runs from the egr over the fuel rail it runs almost fine but gives an egr code( of course, because of the open hose), so it seems my computer is sending the wrong signal causing the egr to malfunction although there is no code when hose is attached.
