i have a stock 95 cx..1st gear..i change around 15-20...then..so on and so forth..pretty much 10-15 mph between gears..

accept..4-5th. can go from..35 to 70mph in 4th..and..havent gone faster then that..and dont like to use 5th..the gear is chipped or somthing..it bumps wen i go into 5th..and its hella loud..

if you are trying to max out each gear, take third to 110mph that should be redline. for ex/si tranny, i only managed 90 mph on third. get an ex/si tranny it makes your z6 run way faster

general rule of thumb is 30mph per gear to redline

actually thats not a bad rule of thumb. pretty close to mine at 36.72.96.128.174

Why they geared it to go 174mph i have no idea, it wont break 120. but thanks for the good mpg in FIF!!!!

correct (but not on my tranny )<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Redline96LX &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">actually thats not a bad rule of thumb. pretty close to mine at 36.72.96.128.174

even though your car is geared so that it "could" go up to 174mph, the only reason for this is give it good cruising rpms. general rule of thumb, your cruising at 70mph tends to be near half of your redline

cx with stock wheels and a 7200rpm redline = 85mph at the end of second

cx tranny
1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.762
3rd = 1.066
4th = 0.853
5th = 0.702
final = 3.25

i have taken mine apart and literally counted the teeth

to the original poster. if you're running the stock wheels, 7200rpm redline, and a cx tranny your gears end at the following mph

1st = 46
2nd = 85
3rd = 140
4th = 175
5th = 213

my zc 3rd with my ex 4.25 final drive ends at 85mph at 7200rpm.

0-30ish
30-59
60-90
4th gear to 110 then 5th to 114 and the engine wont let it go past 114.
