Don't flip out, you got a really good welder. I said WTF when I got mine too.

You got the wrong contractor's kit. You got the one with the fingertip control. Basically there's a **** on your torch which controls the amperage. You need to get the contractor kit with the foot pedal if you want the pedal. I personally can't do the fingertio control thing and use the pedal for pulsing and perfect control over amperage.

If you decide to keep that contractor kit, here's how it goes. Connect the gas line from the regulator to the hole in the back of the welder. Then, bust out ALL the adaptors you got. The adaptor is the big black round thing which plugs in where the torch or stick welder torch is supposed to plug in. You need to use the one with the extra hose coming off of it. Take the adaptors apart. You will screw the fitting on the torch into the adaptor and then slide the plastic back down over the fitting. Then, take the short length of hose and screw it into the gas connection on the front of the machine. You're done

Ground clamp plugs into the ground clamp hole, foot pedal into the foot pedal hole, etc.

My reply was not meant to put you down, it's near midnight in your time zone, you were'nt getting a lot of help, just go to the store I'm sure they'll walk you through everything, maybe even let you weld on a demo machine.
Don't get your panties in a wad.

OK, first off I don't think that is a fingertip control, that is a gas valve, it is an air cooled torch, does that welder have a plug for a footpedal? It may just be a scratch start or a lift to start. Go to the Miller site and find out.
Hope this helps a little.

Is that the torch screwed in in that one picture,
if so that's all you need, plug it in and weld, it has lift start, don't forget to turn on the gas.

Yeah my Esab heliarc 252 came with an air cooled torch that just screwed in the current is conducted through that connector, so is the gas, of course I use a water cooled setup now. It may be left hand thread, I can't recall.
Like I saidyour welder has lift start, so you should be able to go out to the garage and weld right now, GO DO IT, and let us all know how it went.

I prefer foot control. It's already hard enough to keep the torch steady and tungsten positioned accurately with my shaking hands.

Most ppl seem to prefer foot pedal because its hard to control so many things with just 2 hands, but it does make it easier for doing cages and stuff in wierd postions. Btw, that is a nice machine you got there

You bought a pretty damn good welder. Make sure that you check the post flow gas valve for sticking tho. 3 out of the 4 machines that we got would weld themselves open. Miller fixed it for free, but still keep an eye on it. WHy would you go out and buy a welder, and have no idea what your buying or what to buy. Makes no sense at all...Did you just want to buy a welder and go cool i got a welder now?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but a hand trigger and foot pedal control is very different, and anyone who knows the slightest bit about tig welding would know what to buy there. Go back to the place you got it from, and let them walk you thru the setups, and what would be best for you. They do know what they are talking about. Honda tech is a horrible place to get info compared to the welding industry.
