Default 92-95 hatch rear speaker questions?

Hello everybody, Ive got a 92 dx that I am wanting to install rear speakers in. I have got everything bought except the stuff for the rear speakers, the reason is I am unsure what I need. I know there are people who have done this, all I need I think are the brackets, I am going to custom fab the grills. Could somebody possibly take a look at this picture and explain to me what I need? Thank you!http://www.hondaautomotivepart...=null

If it helps at all, yes I did search, both honda-tech, and every other honda site I have, I havent found any good info anywhere as of yet.

For my year, 6.5's in front and rear. Anyway, come on, does anybody know about what I need to get these mounted into the back stock location?

i could rig something up if i was there. whenever ppl have trouble mounting speakers i always figure a way but i dont know exactly what the hole looks like what ur talking about. i see that there is a mounting thing on the picture link u posted, is there any way u can mount ur speaker to that? When I had my Nissan Altima, i modded the speaker bracket to put my 6.5 components in it and it was only made for 5x7's.

i wouldnt be too upset about it. speakers shouldnt be in the rear in the first place.

true, but its all up to personal taste. Right now i only have my amped alpine components running upfront and it sounds great but i like a little rear fill to have some sort of soundstage....but yes, most applications, most of the sound should be comming from the front.

Maybe ill take a closer look at the panels when I take them off, but from looking, it is just an empty space, I may rig something up or just buy that mounting bracket on there I guess.

Wouldnt the sound be really crappy if I just had the 2 front ones? It used to suck, but it also used to have some crappy speakers and crappy tweeters up front. I dont want anything to bump, just some good solid sound.

Rig something up but make it sturdy. My civic has rear 6x9s and i had rear 6.5s from my last car. i didnt feel like spending $150 on new rear speakers so i just made a mounting bracket that was the outline of the stock 6x9s and then cut the hole for my 6.5s in that wooden mounting bracket....very functional and sounds good...even tho i dont have my rear speakers amped.

That may be a good option to. I dont know! Would it sound awful if I just had the 2 front speakers? It doesnt have to bump in the slightest(would prefer it didnt), this is my fun car, the 99 coupe is my car I cruise in, that is until my 92 hatch gets it's engine swapped this summer. So need a good opinion, speakers in the back, or not?

I'm not , and I was actually happy I wasn't gonna have useless holes back there.

Don't worry about it. Are you trying to make it so the people in the backseat can hear too? Just get more power up front!

No, actually I never drive with more than one other person in the car, so this wont be a problem. Also, since this is going to be my "fun" car, I just need some sound, nothing major, and heck not putting speakers back there will save a lot of weight.

Haha, yea, ok good point. But at least it would be a lot less hassle, and save me some money. Need some more opinions! I thin kit will sound a lot better than it used to. It used to ahve some really crappy speakers and headunit, i have a better headunit and good speakers for the front and bought some for the rear, would it sound bad if I had none in the back?

I have no rear speakers and probably never will. I prefer simplicity and i'd rather spend all my budget on front speakers than have to split it between front and back.

Yea, your probably right, it will be a lot less hassle and a lot less on my wallet if I return these rears I have and not have to worry about buying brackets and all. By the way, the stuff I have is sony xplod speakers for the front and sony xplod head unit. These arent too bad in terms of quality, right? I have heard they are ok.
