A Guy Who Needs Advice On His Salvage Title Teg... *KINDA LONG*
Here is the "dillema",
Approximately 3 years ago i began saving up for a nice project car. After 2 years of hard work, i saved up enough money to purchase a 1997 Integra RS with only 44,000 miles. The car had only one catch (it was a salvage title)
I bought the car through my uncle, who runs a shop that specializes in repairing salvage title automobiles. I spent the next 3-4 months sourcing parts for the car, and returning it to its original state. (the car was in a 25mph accident, damaging the front left fender, hood, and bumper).
The car has been finished since September, but unfortuantely, i am unable to get the car registered. Apparently, the laws to register salvage titled cars in Florida has been changed, making it harder to get my car through inspections. On top of that, my uncle lost much of the paperwork (reciepts) that the DMV requires before going through inspections.
I am currently without a car because of a recent accident my younger sister had with my car (her fault), and i BADLY need an automobile...
I have 3 options im considering:
1. Return the car to my uncle for the price i purchased the car from him. (i will lose alot of money compared to selling it on the open market, but it is the most convenient option)
2. Sell the car to a buyer out of state (georgia maybe, because registering a salvage title car there is MUCH easier, but it will take time and i need a car VERY soon)
3. Forge papers on the car so i could get it registered (illegal, but effective... to be honest, this is the last route i would like to take...)
On top of this... if any of you could give me any advice on selling a salvage title automobile, i would be truly grateful....
thank you for reading all of this....

find another shell with all the paper work, and swap all the parts over. I've seen shells sell for dirt cheap here.
