Climate control ?
I would have to guess it would be your climate control. Too bad, cause I just sold a mint one.
Look around in the classifieds. If it were anything else, it wouldnt work at all, not just on the 3/4 selection.

Best bet would be to check the classifieds section or ebay for a new CC. Good luck

before you put money into a new climate control, check the wiring/contacts. Bought a new sunroof motor a few weeks ago to find that the problem was buildup on my switch

Take it apart. I read a post about this a while back, maybe it was over on the resoure. There are resistors for 1-3, and none for #4, the contacts between the slide and the resistors gets worn out over time, if it gets really bad you would only have #4 fan setting. My #1 is gone right now and I plan on taking care of it soon, I can take pics if you like.

this is a very common problem in gm cars... the blower motor resistor burns up and only certain fan speeds will work 1-3 circuts go through the blower motor resistor but #4 (the high speed fan setting) runs an a separate circut so you might loose any one or all of speeds 1-3 but 4 will work....
check into the blower motor resistor when i was working as a gm tech in new york i did a million of them on gm cars and a hand full on Chrysler cars

take off your glove box. right behind it, nerrest the door is a white enclosure thats the blowwer. on top of it in front of the reculate inlet you'll see a 4 wire plug. thats the blower resister. take out the 2 screws holding it in and see if one of the resistors (tallest one if i remimber corectly) is busted. there are 3 resistors in it. if u look at the wire in the loops u can see there diffrent diamiters. if 3 works then the thickest one is intact but if 2 dosent then the scond bigest one isint intact. if only 1 didnt work it'd be the smallest diamiter one. anyway no need to even touch your CC panal. your weakest link is the blower resistor.
