my 87 hatch has a d 1.3 engine in it what a manual 4 speed in it. i was wanting to put a more powerful engine that is fuel injected multiport in it. will a 87 crx dohc motor work or will i have to find a 87 si hatch motor??? what do i need to complete this car that way i want it. also someone told me that a 87 tey motor will work and a brown top z engine will work too. please help thanks alot ppl.

 

well, you could put any motor you want into any car you want. all that matters is how much you're willing to spend.

you don't nec. need to put just and 87 si motor in it. but whatever you do, make sure you take it somewhere where the people know what they're doing. or have your friends help who know what they are doing.

i'm only saying this because your knowledge on this seems to not be that good.

other questions you might want to ask yourself:

do i want this to be a daily driver and still reliable?

do i just want it for performance? (some swaps/modifications that are really powerfull, and put a lot of stress on the car i.e. h22 in a crx, are ones that shouldn't be driven daily).

basically, what is your ultimate goal with this car? DD? DD w/power? DD w/reliabilty?

figure that out and go from there...
