Hi there, I was just wondering if 88-89 impact bar and impact cushion is the same as 90-91 models for a crx...

the body shop charges me $440 for both and I sait NOOOO WAYY because I can get the impact cushion on ebay for around $70 shipped....... or lesss.....


does any one has a picture of an impact cushion ? I have no idea what that is......

I think it might be a big rubber that connects the impact bar to the chassis ?

help me out and I will love you

The impact cushion is just the styrofoam energy absorption device...#'s 20 (front) and 26 + 27 (rear) in this pic:



There are some slight differences between 88-89 and 90-91 and the HF and DX/Si models. If you do a search in here for "bumper beam" it should bring up some old posts that go into greater detail. But basically HF's are lighter due to 2.5mph crash rating vs 5mph of the DX/Si. And then the earlier years seem to be lighter than later. They all seem to fit with some minor adjustment...
