Default constantly breaking axles??

hey guys
first of all, I have a 1988 Honda civic SE hatchback. The engine is a dohc zc, with the zc tranny.
The car is not lowered, its all stock suspension in it. Within the past two days, ive broken 2 axles, and then about a week ago I broke another one. what kinds of things can i look at to be the problem here?
I've been using 91 integra axles.. when i first did the swap, i also used the 91 teg axles, and they lasted from about june right until about a week ago. its only the passengers side axle that keeps breaking, the drivers side is fine. Also, its breaking at the inner cv joint, like where the tapered tripod type thing is.. its putting apart right there.
any ideas anyone?
thanks a lot...
this has been a long night for me.. just finished towing my car home and it just happens to be my b-day... hooray

I thought that you were supposed to use your stock axles when running a DOHC ZC??? Are you sure that you have a ZC and not an LS?? My friend has a DOHC ZC and he is using his stock axles. I thought that ZC's did not use midshafts?? So if you were using 91 teg axles you have to use a midshaft. I am not absolutely sure when it comes to ZC engines but I am pretty sure that you use your stock axles. Are you positive that you have a ZC??

Check your mounts. This usually happens when you have broken mounts. Then the weight of the engine sits on them.

He has the zc tranny so 90-93 integra axles work in this case..

To the original poster..
Check the motor mounts condition and alignment,(Mount defects are the leading cause of cv joints coming apart..)
Make sure the front end is properly aligned
Check the condition of the suspension and steering

hey
thanks for the responses everybody, appreciate it
umm.. suspension seems good, i replaced springs and shocks maybe a year ago, i checked over all the sway bar bushings, and pretty much any other bushing in the front end.. it looks like my upper ball joints may need replacing soon though. also, my rear LCA bushings(the big ones) are shot too, but i doubt that would have anything to do with it, eh?
and about the mounts, i never even thought of that.. i put new mounts in when i swapped in the zc, but it is very possible that one of them could have gone bad by now, so ill be sure to check those.
Also, about the alignment.. I got that done about a month or two ago, and the car still doesnt pull to any side or anything, so im pretty sure thats still good.. although the caster(front to back position of the wheel) is actually wayyy off, the wheels both sit really far back in the wheelwell(im thinking possible front end collision or curb or something) but its been like that since i got the cars, 3 years ago, and ive never had a problem with that before.
thanks again everybody, as of last night i wanted to burn my car to the ground, lmao.

is there maybe an axle that will be a bit longer than the 91 integra one, with the same splines? or is that more of a machine shop type of thing where I have to have it custom made?

we have run into this problem several times on cars that are not lowered - you need a passenger side axle from 1985 Honda Accord SE-i 5spd - it is about 1/2" longer

Mmk.. luckily I have first have expirence with this situation.. In the spindle/hub where the axel slides into it theres a dust guard. Im not talking about the giant brake shield, im talking about a tiny ring sealing the hub bearing. Its to prevent dirt and etc from entering and pwning the axel, When you use 90and up teg axels you have to remove that seal. This is due to the teg axels being a tiny bit longer. If you don't remove it then axel will bind up and continue killing itself.

Went through the same thing in my CRX =p

umm.. thanks for the help, but thats the exact opposite problem im having, lol.. and i already took those dust guards off anyways... i need something longer than the teg axle..

1985 Honda Accord SE-i 5spd
can anybody else confirm this before i go out and buy one? lol
also, do i get it for the 2bbl, 3bbl, or mpfi version? apparantly the carb'd and mpfi make a difference

edit: answered my own question
mpfi - Compressed Length:610mm,Extended Length:649mm,Spline Count of Inner Joint:27,Spline Count of Outer Joint:26,Thread Size:22mm x 1.5mm
carb'd -Compressed Length:606mm,Extended Length:646mm,Spline Count of Inner Joint:25,Spline Count of Outer Joint:24,Thread Size:22mm x 1.5mm

91 integra - Compressed Length:597mm,Extended Length:646mm,Spline Count of Inner Joint:27,Spline Count of Outer Joint:26,Thread Size:22mm x 1.5mm

So i've gotta go witht he mpfi one, its the same spline counts, and 3mm's longer
