Default Brakes or wheel bearing?

Symptoms: Whenever the car is in motion a high hissing/ metal to metal contact sound is coming from the right rear wheel well. When car is moving in reverse the sound changes to a dying mooing cow. Sometimes after driving a burning smell similiar to burning metal is present.

Suggestions? Should I stop driving it till its fixed or is the problem minor?

i guess a locked up e-brake cable or caliper could be the cause.

if it is its drums just take the housing over the shoes off because all the gases and debree in it and dust can make it squeak and stuff but it sounds like you should replace the shoes and hard wear.

but its defentiley not a wheel bearing if you want to test just jack your car up let it idle and by the back of the wheel bearing take a screw driver put it by the back of the wheel bearing and put your ear on the plastic if you hear a huming sound its bad if not your good to go.

Sounds like a seized caliper. Check the rotors for any extreme heat differences after driving.

I know what worn wheel bearings sound and feel like, and that just doesn't sound like they are bad.

thanks guys. i thought it was the wheel bearing but i dont think that would cause the burning metal smell. im prob just gonna take it to a brake shop cuz it sounds like it could be a variable of things and i dont wanna expletive around with brakes since im driving from WA to FL in a couple weeks.

Weird. After driving it about 5 seperate times the sound just went away. Maybe something was just stuck and it dislodged itself after a while.
