i've got a 1991 DA integra that i'm thinking of pullin the motor out and putting into my crx but the motor smokes at the initial startup in the morning alot but once it's warmed up it doesn't smoke anymore, somtimes the car wont start and i check the spark plug wires and press them in further and the car start back up fine again, they are aftermarket cheap *** wires, you think the car just might need a tune-up or somthing any help you can give to me will be greatly appriciated......thanks in advance

 

the smoke is cuz the exhaust is hotter than the air around..so it condenses...same concept of seeing ur breath on a cold night...and as far as the spark plug wires go...go oem...

whoa i retract my exhaust explaination...you should see more exhaust as it heats up...but urs goes away...hrm...does it smoke during the day(assuming your days are slightly warm) if it does than its not just condensation...bump for him

 

i noticed that the spark plug wires had oil around them on the valve cover i believe that my valve guides must be leaking in some oil when the car sits for a period of time and when i start my car up in the morning it just burns off the leakage that had leaked into the vlave guides i'll probably need to replace the seals or the orings on the valve cover could also be the problem cause it can't be my piston rings if the smoke stops completely when the motor is warmed up.........

 

good trouble shooting...wat color is the smoke?

 

it's a blueish color which usually means oil......
