Default Oil on car/Car washing

hey guys, i tried washing my car yesterday because it has oil on it from my sparkplug tube seal replacements.

However my oily handprints/finger prints will not come off this thing.

i just used normal car wash solution.

do you guys have any tips to remove this oil. i was thinking about Dawn since it cuts grease. then i have to rewax it cause dawn also eats off wax.

anything else? TIA

you can try some degreaser like "lighting" degreaser but make sure you spray it on and get a towel with water and just scrub it down and hose it down, dont let the degreaser sit or eles it will spot the paint (leave like water marks there) it should work. let me know how it turns out.

******* in the forum a little angry today?

to the OP - use dish soap, Dawn like you said! Dish soap cuts grease like crazy. It'll take it right off. You should probably do a wax job afterward.

Why not use nail polish remover? Not the acetone type but the newer less solvent stuff - this wont damage the paintwork.

Nu-finish works great. The only drawback is, it leaves so much white dust on the car. Try to apply as light a coat of polish as possible, to minimize the white dust. But when you do get all that dust off, the finish will be very slick. And it lasts longer than Maguiar's.
