i need help some in what the results should be as there was never a manual released for the prelude over here in the uk

anyway the results i got were.

218,220,220,218

i know that means i don't have any bad rings because all of the cylinders are pretty close but what should the compression be

It would help if you told us which engine you had.

But either way, your engine sounds fine. Cylinder leakdown tests are the way to go though.

Doesn't matter what engine he has. 220 is wonderful for any F/H series

Higher compression, especially on a lower-compression engine, isn't always great.

those numbers sound right on to me, especially since there is little difference between the 4 cylinders.

Some motors are supposed to have low numbers. If, say, an F22 is registering 270psi across the board, then SOMETHING's a bit overboard; such as carbon buildup. While a little is normal and will raise compression numbers noticeably, a hell of a lot of carbon on the piston crowns is not a great thing.

I don't know if it helps but i just did a compression test on my Jdm h22a and got

235,235,235,235 they were within a point or two. Kind of hard to tell when it goes in increments of 5 on the guage.
