Default Problem with new d16 engine and old d15 transmission

I just put a new d16 engine in my 4-door 95 civic. I took it for a spin on the I-95 and when I floored the car; in 4th gear it holds out all the way to 5800 rpm and don't want to change gears until I ease up off the gas. I was wondering what the problem could be? I think its the old Tranny that I have on it. The tranny has over 140,000 miles on it. What else could it be?
