Default My Honda CRX ED9 project

Hello.

Im new here. Im from the Netherlands.

Im a few months 18 now, and i have 2 months my driving license. In Holland u can get it if you are 18 years old. From 15 years old i was in love of the Honda CRX.

So when i was 18 i should and must have a Honda CRX.

Problem nr1, money Here is work and getting money a problem, they are paying that low. And tuning stuff etc costs pretty much. Things are imported from US, if they are here 10 dollar, they sell it in Netherland for 100 euro or more.

I bought a cheap Honda CRX (build 1988) that had some problems, the head gasked was leak. But further it looked Ok! The interieur looks very nice! Further it looks standard, standard engine, rims etc. Not lowered. I decided to make things nice and get it out of insurance. I do everyting by myself, cause i dont have that much money.

The engine inside is a DOHC D16A9 with 131 horsepower, without catalystic converter. But they managed to build a cat. converter underneat it, so i already bought a new stainless steel midpipe, only need a catalystic converter, but they cost 100 dollars here....and at ebay.com i see them for about 10 dollars

When I had to look to my brakes the first time, i got through the body of the car on the underside. The sills were rusted After removed the sideskirts it was crap, the whole car was rusted.

I decided to revise my engine head and make it all look nice again So I builded my engine out of my car
It looks al nice and shiney now, and it started the first time Yeaaaaaah.

I painted the valvecover and engine, and build it back in. I revised the front suspension, replaced the bushings, and bought some coilovers. For christmas i got a new engine header, it is not a very expensive one, i think from XS power, but it fits and looks much better then original.

Now i am reparing the sills, bought original HONDA sills. (350 euro) Now i am removing the old sills by my self and let it weld in by someone. In a week or 3/4 i must be ready with that.

Then the car is almost ready to drive, and can back into insurance then. But first i need to weld some piping (from right to left underneat the car) to my new rear exhaust wich is a universal muffler.

Here are some pictures. For more pictures view my website http://www.cashboard.nl/crx/

This is how it looks when i bought it.

This is what we discoverd:

This is what i did last weekend, cut 1 sill out.

This is what came in last week:

Stainless steel midpipe

Rear muffler stainless steel

This comes underneat your feet

And this is to hold up your hood

Too bad that your CRX has the usual cancer. But the engine looks very nice, well done.

And welcome to the board!

Those struts are for the rear hatch!

The car looks pretty nice for the year. It looks like your doing a good restoration
