Default Street Driven Turbo Del Sol: 3 Inch Exhaust or 2.5 Inch with 3 inch cutout

I want to hear some opinions!!!!

Street driven Ls vtec turbo (450whp) on high boost (300whp on low)....what exhaust do you guys think should be on it...

A full 3 inch exhaust from the downpipe back
or
3 inch downpipe w/ 2.5 inch exhaust (but a 3 inch cutout after downpipe)

go with 2.5. You'll have more pull in the higher gears.

I say go with both setups, funds permitting. Since you have 2 boost levels I thinking having the smaller exhaust for the street would do you just fine. And have the 3 inch for track(assuming high boost is for there) runs so the beast can breathe . thats my .02 cents

3 inch for better spool but if you can't afford that then i guess you could do a 2.5 inch with a e-cutout but you better have two different tunes for the 2.5 inch @ WOT and the e-cutout @ WOT.

I'd use the 2.5" w/ 3" ECO. With the 3" cutout you will have zero restrictions after your downpipe because the exhaust will be exiting the system as opposed to a full 3" system that requires the exhaust gas to go from your turbo, through your cat (or testpipe), ect, ect.

Especially being turbo you want as little exhaust restrictions as possible, especially since you're already putting down good numbers.

Is the car tracked at all?

you want 3 inch all the way back.

your going to get a quicker spool and pick up some hp/tq.

...I don't think that was one of his options? 3" DP, 2.5" Piping, 3" tip is what he was talking about.

3" through everything, no question.

I just re-read his post. His options are 3" turbo back or 3" DP, 3" Cutout, 2.5" exhuast.

I still say go with the 2.5" for the little bit of extra torque for regular driving and the cutout for when you get on it.

is your car currently turbo or have you been in a turbo car....most turbo cars are quieter (much quieter) then n/a cars...the manifold/turbo acts like another muffler

That was completely sarcastic. Sorry for not noting so.
