draining 96 lx auto tranny

Default draining 96 lx auto tranny

is the nut on the bottom of the tranny, towards the passengers side thats bigger than all of them the drain nut? I need to drain all the fluid, its never been done and its got 104k on it. can someone tell me whats the best way to do this?

No,
It's the round headed drain plug on the right side. A 3/8ths rachet will fit the plug.

Probably not more than 4 quarts. A lot of it stays in the trans. Look in your manual for exact capacities. If the fluid is real dirty, you may want to change it three times, with a 15-20 mile drive in between each change (it's what is called a trans flush). Use only Honda ATF-Z1, it costs about $4.00 a quart. Will cost you about $40.00 to do a flush.

thanks. $40 is alot cheaper than a new tranny. will this stop the kinda hard shifting?

NO it's not facing the oil pan..it's a round head bolt with a 3/8" square hole in the center of it, facing toward the passenger side; amazingly enough a 3/8" ratchet will fit right into the drain plug hole.
Refill with 3 quarts of honda fluid.
