Default Replacing rear shocks on 98 Accord

Need some help on getting the rear deck cover off.....like HOW ?

I know the bolts for the top of the strut are under there, but I can't quite figure how to get the deck lid off without damaging it.

Thanks !

you don't have to get the deck lid off, you just have to pull down both of the rear bench seat and take the grey plastic cover.

you just need to pull it off, there's no screws to loosen just plastic plugs.
you might break them if you pull it real hard but who cares, not like you gonna drive your car with backseat down 24 hours a day.

Yeah, I can see the gray plastic strip across the there when the seats are down....but it SURE looks like the nuts for the top of the shock strut are up under the deck lid.....I can stick my fingers in under it on the left side and feel one of the nuts....I'll take off the grey strip, you may be right....but honestly, it sure looks like that carpeted lid with the two speakers in it has to raise up to get to those nuts.....

I'll go back to the garage and try the strip..

thanks !

Yep....just got it out...you were 100% correctamundo.....didn't even break the little clip in deals on the plastic strip, it will go right back in.

Had to take one rear control arm loose on the brake drum side in order to have enough room to manuever the strut out from under the wheel well....that sound about right ?

Any futher tips gratefully accepted.....doing the front next if you have any sage advice there.

thanks again....

I love the internet....where else could you find experts to give ya great answers to ******** questions in such short order. I'm a carpenter of 30 years if you have any wood related questions, lay'em on me.

seat backs?

You mean using your key to unlock the back seat and folding it?
