new car
I finally got another ef and this one is actually nice! Its an 89 si and its near perfect.I did one question i did have about my new car though. Why are the tops of my bumpers black? They are not completely black like some i have seen. Also under the hood it says Honda of Canada, could these two things be related.
thanks for the info

yeah i know but i dont have a camera, sorry. Hopefully my brother will let me barrow his tomorrow. But i guess the best way to describe the bumpers is that it looks the black side molding just keeps going around the whole car.

Because it is an '89 - that's just the way that '88-89 Civic bumpers were painted. '90-91 bumpers had different moulding strips and were painted on the top.

All of the '89-91 Si hatches that I have ever seen were made in Honda's Alliston, Ontario plants (the VIN should start with a "2" and the 11th character should be an "H").
Congratulations on finding a clean '89 Civic Si; that was the best year. I am jealous

Just to clarify, it doesn't mean the car is a Canadian Domestic Market car - it just means the car was assembled in Canada.

As far as the Canadian car goes, do you have daytime running lights?

Thats a nice find. How much did you pay for it?? That is one of the beat years you can get. 88-89 are just about the same as the JDM SiR's. Please take care of it and give it the goodies it deserves. Good Luck.
thanks again. i paid 2300 for her (not sure if thats steep but i had to have it). so far i think im gonna leave motor stock (for a while) and focus on suspension, wheels, brakes and interior.

If that car was here in PA, it would be worth at least $3000. I would personally pay up to $3500 if I could find a Frost White '89 ED7 that clean. That is the ideal SCCA STS car in the most desireable color.
