Default LS head on b16 block? vtec?

Hey this may be a dumb question but can I put an LS head on a b16/b17 block? I think the LS is off a b18b1 right, so im not sure if it will go onto a b16.

Just a quick question

Yeah it fits. My buddy had to do this when his head was in the machine shop. Definately not fast though. LOL

ok well IF it fits on there, how do i enable it for vtec? The same way you would an ls/vtec?

Are tehre any gains/downsides to the conversion? i will need vtec cams right?

Only reason I ask is cause i can get an awesome deal on a built LS head....*awesome*
and i have a scrapped gsr head i can use for parts (vtec solenoid, camshafts, etc)

Ive never heard of anybody converting a non vtec head to a vtec head. seems extremely hard.Id say pass on the head, or buy it and sell it to somebody who wants to boost a LS and make some money.

no, can't make a non vtec head a vtec head. Everything is diffrent, simple as that. Just keep saving and do it right, none of this half assed ****.
