Frankenstein possibility? h23a1 block with h23a4 head
I have a 92 lude with the h23a1 that puts out about 160bhp stock. this is according to a couple of different spec web sites. i know the h22 head is a popular mod for the h23a1 but i read that the h23a4 from the 97-01 generation puts out about 190bhp. i am assuming that the block is the same size-2.3 litre- but i'm wondering if the head from an h23a4 can be fitted to an h23a1 block without special fabrication. thanks for any info.

hmm, maybe i read it wrong. this makes sense though. so, i guess my question should be, will a 97-01 h22a4 head (is this a vtec ?) fit snugly onto my '92 h23a1 block? or, should i just stick with a 92-96 vtec head? what kind of computer issues might be posed by either option?
