Default Sell or Part Out?

Hey guys... I havent really posted too many things on here but I wanted to get the opinion from some fellow EF owners.. I am getting ready to buy a new car soon and I was wondering if it would be better too sell the car whole, or just part it out.. The car is very clean, its a Red 88 CRX Si, JDM b16, black and red seats (no rips), stereo, H&R Springs, tokiko shocks.. Full rear interior... The car runs great, but of course does not pass smog.... Should I just sell as is, or can I make more parting it out.. I can have pics up tonight if anyone just wants to see what it looks like.. And I AM NOT SELLING ANYTHING.. Just want to get some advice right now, thanks

it depends on you. You could make more money parting it out but theres always the time issue to part it out. Selling it as is will net you money but it will be low beacuse it doesn't pass smog even though you have a bunch of parts on it and it is clean. good luck.

dude why not just bar it? Just go somewhere where you can pay pass smog then you have 2 years to convert to obd1.

Im not trying to put anymore money into.. I paid someone to pass it last year.. This September it has to be smogged again... It passed the emissions test easily, I just had to pay someone to pass the visual. But i just dont really want to buy anything else for it.. Im trying to get it off my hands in the next 2-3 months

just think of how much of a hastle it would be to part it out. its pretty clean and I dont see why you would have a problem selling it "whole".

Part it out.

Put back your SOHC and sell it for like $4000.

Sell it whole....please don't part a perfectly good CRX. If you part it I may cry, and no one likes a grown man crying.

I smell someone trying to sell something.........

I think you should sell it whole but remember to tell the person that you are selling it to that it won't pass smog in it's current state.

No wrecks/ damage. it has a clean title. The body has about 260k (hey, its an 88!!) The motor ive had for about 2 years with no problems.. I took it to the track once about a year ago and ran 15.1 with just an intake before I got 2 1/4 piping and suspension..One of my friends who is a mechanic here in Sac installed it. I have the all the receipts for the rebuild that I did (timing belt/ cam and crank seals/ water pump/ alternator/ clutch/ all that good stuff) Purchased the motor from Hmotorsonline.com. Also I still have the original 88 tails.. Its really clean.. How much do you guys think that I can get for it?

And oh yea... This is not turning into a sale!! So nobody report me!!

You got that right... I should have put my car on here awhile ago... Nobody really appreciates clean CRXs like fellow REX owners... I love this car too, I bought it all on my own and did the swap with no help (finance wise) which I am very proud of... Its nice seeing your car go from a bone stock 1988 CRX to a clean/fast daily driver.. I had a 90 M3 before this and dont regret having the rex at all... I would love to keep it, but I can afford to have 2 cars (once i get my other one) and I need to upgrade to something more practical and reliable.. 06 Si here I come!!

make sure you test drive one first, we (the dealership that i work for) have been getting ALOT of complaints of the drive by wire system, when you shift the RMP's raise slightly then start to drop. ill admit its quite annoying. it is pretty quick though. just thought id warn you.

about the rex. im from PA and to get a rex that clean, i would seriously consider driving to cali to pick one up like yours. for your car and if i was you i would keep it, just my .02 cents

Thanks for the info.. I already put down a deposit on the first black one that comes in, but I do plan on test driving it before I buy. DBW is the only downside for this car, im hoping that the lag can be fixed with some ecu tuning, but if not its fine, im not worried about trying to race it. And I would love to keep it,(I/H/E would be very fun) but the money that I am going to make off it is going toward my down payment and insurance for the new car... I just hope my new Si will be just as fun to drive... because Vtec on CRX right now is awsome
