idle issue
ok....just got my swap done
freshly rebuilt z6 with block guard, arp head studs, zex 59300 cam and valve springs...runnin y8 intake manifold with b18 TB....
When I put the bashpot on the throttle body and hook it up to vacuum...(using the diagram from geocities/joeyp/....(sorry I don't have the link I lost it but everyone usually refers to that site for the y8 mani swap) The car will idle at 3000+rpm but when I unhook the bashpot from a vacuum sorce it goes back to 500 where it should be.
So I figure I am not gonna run the stupid thing but when I am slowing down unless I double clutch it the thing will die between shifts and usually when I come to a stop usin first to slow it down....once it is stoped it will idle fine.....Now I am thinkin that the added lift from the cam cam is reducing my vacuum since the valves are open longer and further and that is why the bashpot is bieng all funky.
My boost gauge (I am not turboed....yet I am waiting to break in my motor) reads about 25 on the vacuum side. Please guys any info would be awesome thanx

it is that little thing on the throttle body you run a vacuum line too....it has a lever that is connected to the throttle plate that opens the throttle depending on vacuum....sorry I don't know what else it is called
i had the same problem with my b18a swap and i had the vacuum lines crossed. i just messed with it changing them around until i got it right. also i think the map sensor and tps have the same plug and you could have those crossed. i also cleaned my iacv and that cleaned my idle up alot.
