Default stock-muffler diameter / exhaust question ? - update: new exhaust is installed

i see that many peoples here has eliminate the b-pipes-bottlenecks with the kit from SMSP.
i have search and read a lot, but now i have a finally question and need your opinion:

i drive a 2000er european-ITR (DC2/B18C6) with Comptech 4-2-1 header and 100cell-metalcatalyticconverter which is in the original catalytic-box. i buy the Comptech because it have a bigger innerŲ then the stock-header
i think the european-ITR and your US-ITR are identical and the exhaust is the same (up to the 2th o2-sensor by you). ?

now i have the cheap chance to buy a custom b-pipe with real 57mm inner diameter.
i think this were a perfectioning against the original b-pipe, and so i can eliminate the bottle necks which have the original b-pipe.

many peoples here say that the stock muffler (axle-back) is very good for exhaust-systems smaller then 2,5''.

how is the passing diameter from the original muffler ??
have the original muffler any bottle necks ??

what's your opinion. is the stock muffler good enough for my new setup with custom b-pipe ?

... or is the whole new-b-pipe superfluous and brings not a appreciable result ?

thanks & greetings
sven

Sven, you will most likely not achieve appreciable gains by simply installing the new B-pipe that you have described. Removing the first bottle-neck near the cat is a cost-effective upgrade, but if you want to go further than that, I would suggest replacing the entire exhaust system with a larger-diameter, higher-flowing setup.

I did this along with the 4-1oem jdm header and the car came to life.
and when I put on the BCIII exhaust it only released the topend power even more.
Simple exhaust items and it works. If your looking to be a dyno King and have better numbers then everyone else then opt for a different route, if you're looking for respectable gains w/o adding too much noise. then header test and bottleneck adapter.

thanks for your replies.

i like the integra how Honda built it and i don't want make modifications at the engine itself.
i only want optimal/effective use the basic which Honda give us.

because i drive current the ITR daily on Street (and because the cops) i buy the 2'' Comptech-header which fits to the original catalytic-box.
i don't need so much horsepower as possible, i have a lot of fun at track too with my current horsepowers.

exactly, that's what i want

therefore my question about the stock-muffler. i'm pleased to hear that you have made good experiences by eliminate the bottle necks ...
i don't want that the stock-muffler is the bottle neck when i have my new b-pipe with consequently min. 51mm real-diameter from header-collector to axle-back.
the original exhaust-system is sadly only 47mmØ at the slimmest point
