itr upgrade question?????
on my 01 itr i have an intake, n1 cat back, dc header, and a race cat, if i did ferrea valve springs and retainers on stock cams what rpm would i be safe reving too??????? is 9k asking to much of the stock bottom

It is safe to go to 9k...but with stock cams there isn't as much as a benifit.

If Honda made power to 9000 RPM's, you would see a 9000 RPM fuel cut, not 8500. You can balance your crankshaft and rotating assembly, install valvesprings and retainers, and take the motor to 10,000 RPM's, but what is the point when after 8500 you are accelerating slower than you would be in the next gear at a better point in the RPM band.
If you installed some cams that made power to 9000 RPM's, it would make a lot of sense to take the motor that high. Otherwise, you are just increasing the wear on the motor and increasing the risk of something going wrong.

well i ordered a jackson racing supercharger also sorry i should have thrown that out first, they say to use stock cams for the most power.....hmmm maybe i should not even play with it
